I’m thrilled to welcome Kathleen (Katy) Knight, long-time champion of Pursuit and the Executive Director of Siegel Family Endowment (SFE), to Pursuit’s Board of Directors. Katy is a leader in philanthropy, technology, and education, and her expertise will be invaluable to advancing our mission and maximizing outcomes for our community.
I had the pleasure of first meeting Katy years ago when she worked on the public affairs team at Google, one of Pursuit’s earliest and biggest backers. I got to know her even better when she joined Two Sigma, and later, SFE. Katy has since become a good personal friend as well as a close thought partner and advisor. I’ve long admired her commitment to creating economic opportunity here in New York City and beyond, and her values and ideals align closely with my own. I couldn’t be more grateful for her new leadership role at Pursuit.
Katy has long been a steadfast supporter of the New York City tech community and Pursuit. She is a member of the advisory council of READ Alliance, a literacy and youth employment organization, as well as a board member of CSforALL, the national movement to bring high-quality computer science education to all students. She also sits on the board of the Regional Plan Association, which promotes the economic health, environmental resilience, and quality of life of the New York Metropolitan Area.
Under Katy’s leadership, SFE also has played a critical role in the evolution of Pursuit and our funding model. The organization has been among Pursuit’s most generous donors, providing critical funding to the development of Pursuit Bond, a mechanism to scale workforce training and generate greater change.
Please join me in welcoming Katy to the Pursuit community.
