Ruchika Joshi

Ruchika Joshi is a Fellow at CDT’s AI Governance Lab, where she develops technically rigorous solutions for government and industry leaders to ensure AI systems are safe and ethical.

Prior to CDT, Ruchika has worked with the UK Parliament’s Science,Technology, and Innovation Committee, Ofcom, and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs on AI governance and online safety issues. She holds a Master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she also researched policy challenges, including AI safety accountability, incentive-based AI regulation, and human oversight of AI systems.

In addition to her AI governance expertise, Ruchika has led strategy and operations as Chief of Staff to the CEOs of a global consulting firm and an AI startup automating research. Before that, she managed cross functional teams advising national governments, businesses, and multilaterals across Asia and Africa to deploy data and technology for increased impact in healthcare, education, employment, and public service delivery.
